7-phase data collection process
SBS Research sets the standard for quality within the information industry, and there are no shortcuts when you're the best. Once a company has been identified, SBS Research's 7-phase data collection process begins. First, a telephone interview is conducted with the company's marketing, sales, corporate communications or public relations executive by one of our team's professional editors. The profile then passes through a series of 200 computer checks to detect format errors or omissions and is then re-edited for content and coding. After data checking, a copy of the profile is emailed or faxed to the company for review/revision, changes are addressed and the record is ready for publication. Profile updates begin at eight months when each company is re-contacted with an email or written confirmation or, if necessary, re-interviewed by telephone.
Our address file is updated quarterly via electronic address verification, a service of the USPS. Addresses which have been changed also have phone and fax numbers checked. On average approximately 800-1,200 companies are changed per postal update. We also monitor area code changes and implement through the data quarterly. For our customers this means SBS Research mailing labels automatically make direct mail campaigns more productive.
For some companies it is deemed critical for their profile to be up to date at all times due to their volatility, notoriety, or frequent viewing on our web site. These companies are fully updated at least twice a year and press clippings monitored for any changes.
As the final step in the editorial process, SBS Research researchers monitor SEC filings, press releases and industry publications on an interim basis to stay ahead of changes in executives, product announcements, merger/acquisitions, IPOs and other important corporate developments.
